Just went to Minoas for a preholiday gathering with friends...I wish I lived closer! The food was sooo good... I have been coming here for 5 years, and everytime I am reminded of why I keep coming back! I had the grilled calamari appetizer (delicious with a squish of fresh lemon) and my favorite lamb shoulder (kleftiko)... Alex was my server and it was nice to catch up with him. Thanks for the amazing food and wonderful service guys!!   - Sergio

My husband and I went to Minoas for the first time last week and we were impressed with the warm service and delicious food. Located on Kingsway near Boundary, this Greek Restaurant looks like a little house and can be easily missed if not paying attention… but it was a good thing we stopped in!! We started with the saganaki appetizer (pan-fried Greek cheese) which became my instant favorite! The cheese had a nice hot crust on the outside and perfected melted inside, it was so yummy with a quish of fresh lemon! I decided to try the kleftico (lamb shoulder) dinner and the portion was huge! I ended up taking half of it home to eat for lunch the next day. The lamb was tender with intense flavor… and melting off the bone. It was on special for $13.95 and I can’t wait to go back and taste it again! My lamb was served with the usual Greek accompaniments; rice pilaf, stewed veggies, Greek salad & lemon potatoes (the potatoes were to die for!). Even though it was a little busy that night because of the special event across at Swangard Stadium, the service was good and the food was worth the extra few minutes wait… We will back real soon! Thank you Georgia for being such an excellent (and funny) waitress! - Sarah

The only place we go for Greek food is Minoas, as we can not find any place that compares to the friendly atmosphere and great food. Some of are favorites are calamari, lamb and ribs, they are fantastic. Also there are many other items on the menu we have tried and enjoyed them also. The appetizers are so good we have tried them all. The service is great too. - Ray, Joanne, Lucio, Simone

We had lunch at Minoas last Friday. When we walked upstairs into the main dining area, we were seated right away, at a table overlooking Kingsway. The dining area was bright and cheerful, with white stucco walls, plants everywhere and some Greek music playing in the background. It immediately brought back fond memories of my vacation to Greece a number of years ago. One of the staff quickly took our initial order, and some chilled white Greek wine appeared at the table within a couple of minutes. For lunch we had a appetizer platter, including grilled calamari, spinach pie, Greek salad. The calamari was excellent, with a bit of tzatziki complementing the taste! Minoas grilled calamari is now my favourite. The rest of the meal was great too, including fresh Greek salad, tasty and tender spinach pie, and nice garlicy hummus. The server and other staff passed by regularly, topping up the wine and water glasses, asking if everything was ok and if we needed anything else. They were friendly while being professional, keeping an eye on how our meal was progressing, stopping to chat from time to time, ensuring we felt well taken care of. Our hot appetizer platter and half litre of wine was great value. We'll be going back again, but the difficult decision will be whether to have that wonderful hot appy platter again, or to try other menu selections.

Made the trek out to Minoa's again today because my business associate wanted lamb. And who serves the best lamb in the Lower Mainland? .... yes, ... Minoa's. Not sure how they can afford to make any money, but it was the biggest, most succulent lamb I have ever seen. Even though I usually go vegetarian, even I had a bite. It was delicious, tender, the aroma from the herbs ..... incredible!
I had the pastitsio with Greek salad. Loved the way they prepare the rice and potatoes. I gave the garlic sauce that comes with it to my friend who wanted it to dip the pita bread into.
We had a bottle of a new Greek wine that they are now carrying. Didn't get the name, but it is very good. It was a full bodied red.
No dessert. No coffee, but the people who walked past us (a group of local teachers) all raved about the coffee drinks. I don't know if they were loaded up, or just drip. They all smelled delicious when the waiter walked past us to deliver them to the table next to us.
Before leaving Anna and her mum gave us a couple of their homemade cookies. Oh, I love those cookies!
Forgot to mention that the place was packed and had to park a block away. It was worth the long drive (30 minutes) and block walk in the rain to get there.
Thank you to Anna, the mum and the staff. Another incredible meal. 5 out of 5 stars. Two thumbs up.
